"Let's Talk About Sex" With Guest Speaker Catharine Lumby

The Gold Coast Media & Corporate Club may shock but will certainly entertain at our September 12 lunch, with special guest speaker Catharine Lumby, who will shed some light on the undercover habits of normal Australians.

Catharine is an Associate Professor at the University of Sydney (Media and Communications), a well-known media commentator, and an expert on sex, gender, and cultural issues.

She is the consultant on gender and ethics to Big Brother, is a former ABC TV Media Watch presenter, and author of Bad Girls: The Media, Sex and Feminism in the 90s, Gotcha: Life in a Tabloid World, and Remote Control: New Media, and most recently, The Porn Report.

Catharine is currently finalising two large federally-funded research projects - one concerns young women and media consumption, the second is an inquiry into the production and consumption of pornography in Australia.

She is also co-ordinating research into attitudes and behaviours towards women for the National Rugby League.
